These are fantastic tools
for working on thumb-finger opposition strength, so important for
pencil and other tool grasps. They are fun and compelling enough that
kids forget that they are exercising their muscles. It is so hard to
find things that MAKE hands keep that open webspace while squeezing,
and the size and shape of a tennis ball is about as close as you can
get to perfect.
You can make these yourself, but if you don't have a spare tennis ball,
glue gun, exacto knife, aren't feeling creative, or just have better
things to do with your time, I'd be glad to sell you one that I made.
(yes, I probably do have better things to do with my time, but I am a
Professional Procrastinator, and these are much more fun than
writing evaluation reports!)
These include small parts that can be
pulled off and become a choking hazard -- not for children of
developmental age 3 or younger!!!
They
cost $8.00 each plus $3.50 shipping and packing. There is a discount on
shipping if you would like more than one (so they can have
conversations!)
Reduced shipping costs if you buy
more than one item: A dollar off for each extra item!
I will do this by rebating the
difference after you finalize your order
(sorry, I can't do it automatically with PayPal).
Here are some characters I have come up with:
Penny
Mr.
Tennison
Floyd
Otto
Amie
Mousler
Or I can make you one per your choices: Hair - color, yarn
or feather, length (if yarn); Boy or Girl or Animal (I can try!);
Sunglasses; Basic Expression (excited, sad, tired); Facial hair
(goatee, full beard, mustache, big eyebrows, eye lashes). If you have
ideas, you can email me (click
below).
